Gajus Worthington – Chairperson and CEO

Gajus is a life sciences executive, entrepreneur and inventor. He is the Co-Founder of Fluidigm (FLDM), where he was CEO from its inception through over half a decade as a successful public company. He is also a Managing Partner of WRQ Sciences.


Gajus was the COO of the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub where he led the development and growth of the organization for nearly five years. He is a Co-Founder of Kaizen Therapeutics, developing broad-spectrum antivirals and StatOS, a ML/AI-based healthcare company. He is an elected member of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. Gajus is a Physics and EE graduate of Stanford University.

Kartik Raghavan – Managing Partner, WRQ Sciences

Kartik is a highly experienced software and investment executive. He was a Managing Director at Two Sigma where he created and led Strategy, Product Management, and Business Innovation and Growth (BIG) Teams.


Previously, Kartik was at the Gates Foundation where he was a member of the Foundation Leadership team and Program Related Investments Committee. At Microsoft he led product teams and served as the TA to President Jeff Raikes and Chief Software Architect Ray Ozzie. Kartik is an Engineering/Computer Sciences and Economics/Math graduate of Dartmouth College.

Steve Quake

Steve is an acclaimed scientist and innovator. He is Head of Science for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and was founding co-President of the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub. Steve is also the Lee Otterson Professor of Bioengineering and Professor of applied physics at Stanford University.


He has received numerous awards for his discoveries and has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Medicine, and the National Academy of Inventors. He has co-founded over a dozen companies including Fluidigm (FLDM), Helicos Biosciences (HLCS), and Molecular Stethoscope. Steve is a physics and theoretical physics graduate of Stanford and Oxford Universities.
